Two civilians martyred, eight injured in Indian cross-border firing

RAWALPINDI: Two civilians embraced martyrdom while eight were injured on Wednesday due to Indian unprovoked firing at Chaprar sector on Working Boundary, the ISPR said.

According to the ISPR, Indian Border Security Forces continued unprovoked firing in Harpal sector. The Pakistan Army retaliated to the firing from across the border.

Another civilian Sikander from Sona valley who was injured at the Line of Control on Tuesday succumbed to injuries at CMH Kharian today, the ISPR said.

Pakistan Rangers are befittingly responding to the Indian firing, the ISPR added.

Today, Pakistan summoned Indian Deputy High Commissioner JP Singh to protest repeated ceasefire violations at the Working Boundary and LoC.

The Foreign Office handed a protest letter to the Indian envoy over the ceasefire violations.

Since October 21, four civilians have embraced martyrdom while 21 have been injured at the working boundary due to the firing by Indian army.

Indian army on Tuesday also carried out unprovoked firing at Bhimber sector, which was befittingly responded to by the Pakistan Army.
