IHC asks Pemra for record of Imran’s speeches related to sit-in

ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Wednesday asked the Pakistan Electronic Media Regularity Authority (PEMRA) for the records of Imran Khan’s speeches related to Islamabad sit-in on Nov 2.

IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui was hearing petitions against Imran Khan’s Nov 2 Islamabad protest submitted from all four provinces.

The petitions stated that Imran Khan does not believe in the supremacy of the law, adding that the protest would affect citizen’s basic rights.

The court in its verdict ordered Pemra to provide record of Imran Khan’s speeches related to Nov 2 sit-in.

The court said that Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner, District Magistrate and IG Islamabad should present before the court and inform it about the measures taken to protect citizens’ rights.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is to protest in Islamabad on November 2 on the matter of Panama leaks.
