Airports face security threat from RAW, Punjab Home Dept warns LEAs

LAHORE: Punjab Home Department on Friday wrote a letter to the Law Enforcement Agencies warning them about terrorist threats to the airports across the country.

The letter said that Indian Intelligence Agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has planned terrorist activities.

“The terrorist activities will be carried out through remote-controlled devices,” mentioned the letter.

The letter urged commissioners and regional police officials to visit airports and take into consideration the security situation.

It also stated that the security arrangements should be reviewed anew.

The LEAs were instructed to improve security and report to Home Department.

Earlier this week, a police training academy in Quetta was targeted by terrorists and 61 security forces personnel were martyred and scores injured.
