PSX-100 sheds 132 points amid profit-taking

KARACHI: Trading started on a positive note on Friday at the Pakistan Stock Exchange, with the 100-index gaining 147 points to register an all-time high level of 42,121.

The benchmark 100-index closed its first session gaining 125 points, but the final tally for the day was 132 points down amid profit-taking.

A total of 450 million shares worth 15 billion rupees were exchanged today. 430 companies were active, with share prices of 173 staying in the green while 238 lost their value.

Insight Securities research head Zeeshan Afzal said that after a long run of two thousand points in three days, the 100-index is catching its breath and the momentum is positive.
