Special persons protest harsh treatment at event held for them in Lahore

LAHORE: Special persons blocked Mall Road as they protested harsh treatment meted out to them during an event held on Saturday.

The protesters said that they wanted to meet Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif who was a guest at the event, but authorities locked them inside an art gallery.

“We wanted to share our grievances with the chief minister,” one of the protesters said.

Police on the other hand said that the special persons did not have invitation cards.

It is important to mention that today (December 3) marks the International Day for People with a Disability. The event was held to commemorate the day.
