Celebs stun fans at Pakistan Film Festival in New York

NEW YORK: Pakistani celebs enthralled spectators as they walked the red carpet of country's inaugural film festival in New York.

Pakistan's permanent representative for United Nations, Dr. Maleeha Lodhi came up with this most exciting event in New York from Dec 02 to 04. The first-ever Pakistan Film Festival has been taking place at United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York.

The festival kick-started on the 2nd of December with a red carpet reception, and brought together a number of celebrities, film stars as well as directors and producers of the movies screened at the festival.

Pakistani divas Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar, Sanam Saeed, and actors Shehryar Munawwar, Wajahat Rauf, Adeel Hussain and many others stunned the fans at the red carpet.

The flicks being featured at the festival include all genres released up till now since the famous cinematic revival in Pakistan.

Frieha Altaf of Catalyst said, "The Pakistan Film Festival 2016 brings in a selection of some of the finest and riveting films coming out of Pakistan film industry after decades of its struggle and revolution".

"There has been a great buzz in New York for the event," she added.

The two-day glittery event has surely been a great opportunity for Pakistani movie makers to come in the limelight.

Such festivals are also a bare necessity to reach out to greater audience to promote indigenous movies.
