Sikhs protest during Heart of Asia Conference in India

AMRITSAR: The Sikh community in India protested during the occasion of ongoing Heart of Asia Conference.

The Sikh community protested over freedom from India and making a separate country, Khalistan.

The participants of the rally demanded that India should stop committing atrocities in Occupied Kashmir.

The culprits behind the Samjhota Express tragedy should also be brought to justice, they demanded.

Sartaj Aziz from Pakistan arrived in India to attend Heart of Asia conference. The conference has been taking place at a time of heightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbours over Kashmir and continuing skirmishes at the border.

The Heart of Asia – Istanbul Process was launched in 2011 with the objective to boost economic and security cooperation.

Its members include Afghanistan, Pakistan, Azerbaijan, China, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and the United Arab Emirates.
