Injured Yasir to miss warm-up match in Australia

CAIRNS: Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah on Tuesday sustained a back injury during a bowling session at Calazy’s stadium, Cairns in Australia, said a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) statement.

According to the statement, Yasir would not be able to participate in a warm-up match going to be held in Cairns.

The statement further said that the leggie was getting treatment from medical experts and the doctors have advised him two-day rest.

In October, Yasir became the fastest Asian cricketer to reach 100 Test wickets when he claimed the wicket of West Indies batsman Miguel Cummins in Dubai Test.

Yasir is also the fastest to reach 100 wickets mark in last 85 years of Cricket history.

He’s also jointly second fastest bowler to reach 100 Test wickets, along with England’s Sydney Barnes, Australia’s Charlie Turner and Australia’s Clarrie Grimmett.

The record of being fastest bowler to reach 100 wickets mark remain with George Lohmann of England who completed 100 wickets in his 16th appearance.
