Section 144 imposed in Karachi for 15 days

KARACHI: The Sindh Home Department imposed on Wednesday with immediate effect, Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) in the city for 15 days.
Section 144 prohibits public gatherings of five or more people and public display of a weapon. According to the notification, Section 144 has been imposed in specific areas of Karachi.
The government has prohibited processions and rallies in Red Zone, MA Jinnah Road, Tibet Centre, Jinnah International Airport and main highways.
The decision has been taken to ensure the security of people in wake of looming terrorist threats.
The country has recently witnessed a wave of terrorist attacks taking place within only one week.
