Passenger bus runs over head constable in Shahkot

SHAHKOT: Head constable of Shahkot police station was killed after getting run over by a speeding passenger bus on Sunday near Jaat Nagar.

According to SHO Shahkot police station Rana Sajjad, the passenger bus was travelling from Lahore to Faisalabad.

When the bus was asked to stop at the check post, instead of stopping, the driver accelerated past the check post, driving over the head constable and killing him in the process, said SHO Sajjad.

The bus driver managed to flee the scene of the crime, while the bus has been seized and police are searching for the absconded driver.
