Shadab should be playing for Pak in limited over games: Dean Jones

SHARJAH: Islamabad United Coach Dean Jones said on Monday that that the 18-year-old, Shadab Khan, deserves a spot in Pakistani limited over team.

Speaking at a post-match press conference, the former Australian player said: “ Well I predicted two or three games that the kido should be playing for Pakistan in limited over games. He needs a little bit of straightening up, contains runs a little bit,” he said. “But he is very hard to pick, particularly when the batsmen are going hard.”

Jones commended the teenager`s batting skills displayed in today`s game. However, he immediately added that as he in just 18, hence he now needs to get some muscles on and put the priority on his fitness.

“It's just a matter of nurturing now. Its just keep popping up. That’s what PSL does. And that’s what its about. Hopefully the PCB`s coaching staff nurture these boys well.”

Khan with his batting on Monday against Lahore Qalandars provided 42 valuable runs off just 24 deliveries by hitting two 4s and three 6s. His persistent stellar legbreak bowling in the PSL has also given him positive limelight.

The Mianwali-born took 2/28 in the match against Lahore Qalandars.
