Punjab apex committee decides to boost efforts against terrorism

LAHORE: It was decided to enhance efforts against terrorism in another meeting of the Punjab Apex Committee on Sunday.

The meeting was called today to review the efforts being made by civil and military forces to combat terrorists and their facilitators in the province.

The meeting was presided over by Chief Minister Punjab Shehbaz Sharif and attended by Lahore Corps Commander Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali, National Security Advisor Lieutenant General (retd) Nasir Janjua and other senior military officers.

CM Shehbaz said Pakistan Army is fully capable of dealing with internal and external challenges.

He expressed hope that terrorism will completely end with recently initiated Operation Radd-ul-Fasaad.

The apex committee was also expected to review the security for the final of the Pakistan Super League, which is scheduled to be held at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on March 5. However, no decision regarding it has been announced as of yet.

With just a week to go before the finale of the PSL second edition, the Punjab government is yet to announce the decision on whether the final will be held in Lahore.
