LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shahryar Khan has designated Karachi as the host of the final of the Pakistan Super League next year.

Talking to media earlier today, Shahryar Khan said once the final of the ongoing PSL is successfully held in Lahore, next year’s PSL final will be hosted in Karachi.

Khan informed that PSL chairman Najam Sethi will leave for Dubai tonight, where he will try to convince international players to come to Lahore for the final, scheduled to be held at Gaddafi Stadium on March 5.

Regarding Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, who were suspended by the PCB for alleged spot-fixing during PSL earlier this month, the PCB chairman said both the players have until March 3 to submit their response.

“After both Sharjeel and Latif submit their response, we will then decide whether to form a commission or a disciplinary committee,” Khan elaborated.

On PTI chairman Imran Khan’s opposing comments regarding the PSL final in Lahore, the PCB chief said, “Imran Khan is a politician. We have nothing to do with politics.”

“We have made a decision in accordance with the wishes of the Pakistani public,” Khan added.

Imran Khan on Monday had termed the idea of hosting the PSL final in Lahore 'madness', after the Government of Punjab gave the green signal to PCB for holding the final in Lahore.
