DUBAI: Assistant and bowling coach of Quetta Gladiators Abdul Razzaq while welcoming the Pakistan Cricket Board’s decision to host Pakistan Super League final in Lahore, said that it was a good decision by the board.

“Our nation was missing cricket in the country. I hope it is staged successfully. People are so excited about the final. It will be good for Pakistan cricket”, he said while talking to Geo.tv.

Talking ahead of the playoff against Peshawar Zalmi, he said that bad luck cost them last few games.

“It’s good that Quetta Gladiators took the second position during the league stages. We had a bit of bad luck during the last few matches. Quetta Gladiators have been playing good cricket throughout the tournament and if we don’t commit those mistakes again, then Quetta has the ability to beat Peshawar Zalmi today”, he added.

He said that in T20 cricket every day was a new day and if the team gets momentum early in the match then they can beat any side.

“Every day in T20 is different. If we get momentum and players feel confident then they can beat any side. During the start of the tournament, Quetta were beating all other teams and they looked unbeatable but we lost few matches”, he added.

Gladiators assistant coach said that they were looking to win this match to qualify for the finals.

“We are playing it like it’s the semi-final or final for us”, he said.

Talking about the key players for his team against Zalmi, he said that Ahmed Shehzad and Kevin Pietersen could play an important role.

“Their performance would be important for us. If Shehzad scores runs at the top then things would become much easier for us”, he further added.
