Seven-layered cheeseburger prepared by a member of the Qatari royal family sells for $10,000

DUBAI: A seven-layered bacon cheeseburger prepared by a member of Qatari royal family is perhaps the most expensive ever sold burger.

According to reports, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, a member of Qatar's royal family, helped out with the cooking of the food. Top chef at Dubai's Le Gourmet Russell Impiazzi prepared the burger alongside the Sheikh.

Speaking with the local press, Sheikh Al Thani said: 'Two years ago we broke the world record by selling one burger for $7,000, and this year we wanted to top that.

'All proceeds will go to breast cancer awareness and free detection at an earlier stage.'
