Rangers recover huge cache of weapons in raid at Karachi's Safari Park

KARACHI: Paramilitary forces recovered a huge cache of weapons from a store room at the city's Safari Park in a raid conducted early morning Tuesday, informed a Sindh Rangers spokesperson.

The raid was conducted on intelligence-based information, the spokesperson stated.

Among the weapons found at the site were anti-aircraft guns, rifles, SMGs, LMGs, hand grenades and snipers. A large quantity of different types of bullets and cartridges were also recovered from the location. 

According to Rangers spokesperson, the weapons were intended to be used to create unrest in the metropolis. 

The Rangers detained the park's guards for interrogation.

Orangi Town Encounter

In a police operation in Orangi town`s Iqbal market, one alleged dacoit was gunned down by the personnel early Tuesday morning; two of their accomplices managed to flee.

The law enforcement agencies detained 11 suspects in raids carried out in different parts of Karachi. The suspects were found to be in possession of illegal weapons and drugs.
