Newborn baby kidnapped from Karachi hospital recovered

 

KARACHI: A newborn baby was recovered by a police a day after being kidnapped from the Qatar Hospital in Orangi Town.

The child was kidnapped on Thursday and according to the family the kidnapper, a  woman dressed as a doctor took the baby from his grandmother. CCTV video obtained by police showed the baby’s kidnapper.

Police were successful in arresting the woman seen in the CCTV video from Orangi Town. The woman informed police and provided details of where the baby was being kept. Acting on the information, police recovered the newborn from a house in Machar Colony.

According to SP Orangi, a gang consisting of eleven members (seven males, six females) was involved in the kidnapping. Police conducted searches at four homes for the recovery of the newborn.  

In a similar incident, a baby was kidnapped from the Abbasi Shaeed Hospital last year in September.
