Paperless police offices to be formed in KP: IG

PESHAWAR: Efforts to minimise the use of paper in police offices of the province are underway, announced inspector general (IG) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on Sunday.

"Negotiations in this regard have already taken place with the managing director (MD) of Information Technology Board," IG KP Syed Akhtar Ali Shah told Geo News. "A paperless management information system will be created for central police office Peshawar," he said.

The computerised system will reduce complications in processes such as procurement, budgeting, accounts, inventory, and file movement, Shah said.

"All police stations in KP will also be shifted to computerised processes," said IG KP. "26 registers per day will be digitised on a daily basis and made accessible to all relevant departments."

Talking to the media, Shah said all police mobiles in KP will be connected to the internet and a tablet with updated information about criminals will be installed in the vehicles.
