Body found, 10 suspects held in Karachi searches

KARACHI: A body was recovered late Friday night from the metropolis' Taiser Town area, rescue sources said, while police have rounded up ten suspects in various search operations in the city.

Rescue sources revealed that the body, which was of a woman, also bore torture marks.

Police search operations

A door-to-door search operation by Rangers is underway in the city’s Jahangir Road No. 2 area, wherein five suspects have been detained till now, sources said.

Over 25 Rangers personnel partook in the search operation, under which the area has been locked down, sources disclosed further.

In another search operation, conducted by PIB Police in the old Sabzi Mandi area of Karachi, motorcycle lifter Umar Farooq was arrested, police mentioned, adding that the suspect’s identification helped recover four stolen bikes.

Search raids are being carried out to find Farooq’s accomplices. Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the arrested.

Two dacoits – Kabeer and Saeed – were taken into police custody during a search operation in Saddar, while weapons, mobile phones, and motorcycles were recovered from the suspects, security officials stated. The arrestees are habitual offenders, police said, adding that they have been arrested in the past as well.

An operation in Mobina Town, on the other hand, led to the arrest of two suspects accused of land grabbing, police explained. A case has been filed against the suspects, from whom weapons were recovered as well.
