ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Thursday reacted to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presenting himself before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT).

Khan criticised the prime minister for reading a prewritten speech outside the Federal Judicial Academy, terming that alone as confirmation that the prime minister did not reveal anything new before the JIT.

"They had only one defence, which was the Qatari letter, since the Qatari is not coming that defence has collapsed. They don't have any other way to prove how the money went from Pakistan to purchase the London properties," Imran Khan said in a video posted on Twitter.

Imran Khan said the prime minister was making a dangerous insinuation through his speech, giving the impression that there is a conspiracy being hatched against them.

Taking it further, Khan said that the two institutions being maligned as conspirators are the judiciary and the Pakistan army, which is a very shameful tactic.

He recalled that when the incumbent Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the incumbent Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, on both occasions the premier's daughter Maryam Nawaz posted on Twitter lauding the appointments as harbingers of better days.

Khan said Maryam's posts on Twitter gave the impression that both the COAS and the CJ were people that the ruling party had complete faith in, but today they are pointing fingers at the same people.
