Four youth martyred by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir in two days

SRINAGAR: A mourner was killed and over 50 injured after Indian troops opened fire in Indian occupied Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.

The 22-year-old civilian, identified as Tauseef Ahmad Wani, was killed after Indian troops fired bullets and pellets on protesters who had gathered in Kakapora to attend the funeral of a youth martyred earlier, the Kashmir Media Service (KMS) reported.

At least 50 persons were injured while one was killed in the forces’ firing on citizens protesting against the killing of three youth by troops in Kakapora area of Pulwama district earlier. 

Hospital sources confirmed to the KMS that more than thirty persons with pellet and shell injuries were brought to Kakapora hospital.

Over a dozen of the injured protesters are being treated at sub-district hospital Pampore. 

Indian forces martyred three unarmed Kashmiri citizens in Pulwama district's Kaakpoora vicinity late Wednesday after two Kashmiri youth were martyred in Baramulla district on the same day.

The authorities imposed restrictions and suspended internet services in all major towns of south Kashmir districts soon after the killings on Thursday. 

“Restrictions will remain imposed in Pulwama, Kakapora, Pampore and Awantipora areas of the district,” Pulwama Deputy Commissioner GM Dar told media men. 

Higher educational institutes were closed in the district, he added.

Shops, business establishments, and educational institutes were closed in Pulwama district to mourn the killings of the youth.
