Federal ministers, army officials discuss Jhadav's case at meeting with PM: sources

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif chaired a meeting of military and political leadership on Friday, where decisions were taken regarding Indian spy Kulbhushan Jhadav, whose case is pending in the International Court of Justice.

According to sources, the discussion was regarding attorney general of Pakistan representing Pakistan in Jhadav's case in the International Court of Justice in The Hague.

Moreover, sources added, the military and political high-ups who attended the meeting spoke about the security situation in the country. The officials discussed operations Zarb-e-Azb and Radd-ul-Fasaad.

During the meeting, views were also exchanged views over the recent visit of American senators to Pakistan.

Besides, consultation was also held over relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan, sources said.

The army chief, director generals of Inter-Services Intelligence and Military Intelligence and federal ministers were also in attendance at the meeting.

The prime minister and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa also held a one-on-one meeting, sources said.

This was the first meeting of the prime minister with military high-ups after the Pakistan Army withdrew its tweet that rejected the government's notification on Dawn Leaks.

The army had stated the issue was settled after recommendations mentioned in the enquiry committee report were implemented.
