Three dead, 25 injured in Bajaur Agency blast: political admin

KHAR: At least three people were killed and 25 injured in a remote-controlled bomb blast which hit the town of Nawagai in Bajaur Agency of FATA on Friday, political administration said.

The blast occurred in a truck in the Chahrmang area of Nawagai, officials said. 

The injured were taken to Agency Headquarters Hospital Khar. Seven of the injured are said to be in critical condition.

The casualties are all said to be locals of the area. Bodies of the deceased were sent to their native towns.

Arrangements were also being made to shift the critically injured to hospitals in Peshawar via helicopter.

Security forces cordoned off the site of the incident and started a search operation in the area.

Funeral prayers for the deceased were offered later in the day and the bodies were sent to their native towns. The prayers were attended by the local military commander and the additional political agent.
