Protest held in Brussels against Indian brutalities in IoK

BRUSSELS: Kashmir Council Europe (KC EU) organised a protest demonstration to mark a 'Black Day' on August 15 in front of the Indian Embassy in Brussels, the capital city of Belgium.

Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) and across the world observe the India's Independence Day as a 'Black Day'.

Despite inclement weather, a large number of people from all walks of life, including representatives of different organisations in Belgium and other EU countries attended the demonstration. 

Participants of the demonstration raised slogans against the Indian occupation of Kashmir and the brutalities committed by the occupation forces in Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK).

Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said that they have gathered to protest against human rights violations committed by New Delhi in IoK. Expressing solidarity with the people of occupied Kashmir, Ali Raza Syed added that the peaceful struggle for the liberation of Kashmir would be continued.

Showing serious concerns on the current situation in the occupied valley, the chairman Kashmir council EU said the people, especially the youth, are being killed in extra judicial operations in and are deprived of peaceful demonstrations against the brutalities. 

Syed declared that Kashmir Council EU would continue the peacefull struggle for rights of the people of Kashmir.

Other speakers at the gathering also condemned recent killings by Indian forces in occupied Kashmir. They called for a repeal of draconian laws, including the Public Safety Act (PSA) in the occupied territory. 

They added that today Kashmiris are closer to the logical fruition of their aspirations to determine their fate as assured by UN Resolutions.

The demonstrators called for immediate international attention on the existing situation in IoK. They especially urged the UN to uphold its responsibility on the issue of Kashmir by taking serious action against Indian atrocities.
