CM Shehbaz says those levelling baseless allegations not serving people

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Friday that those levelling baseless allegations are not serving the country and the nation. 

He made the remarks after meeting members of the Punjab Assembly who called on him.  

"Those indulging in politics of negativity do not have any passion for serving the people," he said, adding that, "People are not served by hollow slogans".

The Punjab chief minister claimed that they have save saved billions of rupees while launching development projects.

New corps commander calls on CM 

Lt Gen Aamer Riaz, the newly appointed corps commander of Lahore, also called on Shehbaz today. 

The chief minister wished Lt Gen Riaz well for his new assignment.

He said the nation is proud of its brave armed forces and the sacrifices they have rendered. 

"The war against terrorism was successful owing to the decisions of the civilian and military leadership," he said, adding that, the entire nation, including the civil-military leadership, is on one page regarding the war against terrorism.

Shehbaz further said that this war is for Pakistan's survival. 

Lt Gen Riaz was posted as the Lahore corps commander during a shuffle in the army's top brass on September 28 this year. He was serving as the head of the Southern Command in Quetta.

He has previously served as the head of the 111 Brigade in Rawalpindi and later as the Director General of Military Operations in GHQ.
