SWABI: The time has come to nab all those leaders who are names in the Panama Papers case, Jamaat-e-Islami chief Siraj-ul-Haq said on Saturday.

While addressing a rally in Swabi, the JI chief said they wanted all the leaders to be taken through accountability proceedings. Siraj is one of the three petitioners in the Panama case against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

During the rally, the JI chief also spoke about the Finality of Prophethood clause in the Election Commission of Pakistan form, saying Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif asked Nawaz to dismiss those [Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz] ministers who were involved in removing the clause. Siraj hinted at Punjab Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah being the culprit, asking when would he be dismissed.

The issue pertaining to the Finality of Prophethood clause started when it was allegedly removed from the ECP form. The confusion came at a time when amendments to the Elections Act, 2017 were being deliberated among political parties. However, it has not yet been known who, if anyone, attempted to remove the clause.
