NAROWAL: Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal remarked that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan and Awami Muslim League Head Sheikh Rasheed are endeavouring to derail the government.

While speaking to media on Sunday, he said: “Imran raising voice against corruption is nothing but political drama.”

The people who had left Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to join PTI are now returning, he claimed. “The people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are fed up of the government.”

On the governance of PML-N, he said: “we don’t want any conflict in the country.”

“Our government will complete its tenure in next eight months,” he shared, adding the government successfully solved two big problems of the country; load-shedding and terrorism.

Criticising Pakistan Peoples Party Co-Chairperson Asif Ali Zardari, Iqbal remarked that it makes no sense for Zardari to speak about corruption.

“When PPP was in power, corruption cases would emerge every two days,” he claimed.

Speaking about the significance of social media, Iqbal said that the platform has become an important “political ground” which has many negative and positives aspects.

“Fake news and fake propaganda on social media have become a powerful tool nowadays,” he said.

Democratic freedom should be respected on social media, he urged, adding that the most important thing is to eliminate the root of terrorism in the country.
