Three siblings crushed to death by speeding tanker in Karachi

KARACHI: A traffic accident in Karachi’s Shah Faisal colony claimed the lives of three siblings on Saturday.

A speeding Korangi-bound water tanker overturned on a motorcycle, crushing beneath it Abdul Jabbar, 19, and his sisters Quratulain, 14, and Zebunnisa, 12.

A search operation is underway to arrest the heavy vehicle’s fugitive driver, the police said, adding that a case was registered and the tanker and cleaner, Shoaib, were in police custody.

The police are making efforts to trace the owner of the vehicle, sources told this correspondent.

The deceased siblings were residents of Shah Faisal Colony 3. 

A traffic accident on Wednesday night claimed 27 lives after a speeding bus fell off a bridge in Dhok Pathan area of Talagang.

The bus, en route to Raiwind, fell from a height of 150 feet, leaving as many as 69 people injured in the accident.

The deceased and injured were rushed to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital Talagang and other nearby medical facilities for the autopsy, medical treatment respectively.
