KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Dawar Kundi while reacting to party chief’s Imran Khan remarks against him said that he has not been expelled from the party.

“I can’t be blamed for following PTI’s vision and constitution. I can’t be expelled from PTI like this,” he remarked while speaking on Geo News programme, Aj Shahzaib Khanzada Kay Sath.

He further said, “I cannot be expelled on the basis of a video statement. I have served the party and its ideology loyally. I can’t be expelled as the party has certain procedures.”

Kundi, who was elected from NA-25 Tank, had alleged that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Minister Ali Amin Gandapur protected the suspects involved in stripping, parading a 16-year-old in Dera Ismail Khan.

The PTI leader also bashed the ‘exemplary’ conduct of the KP police, remarking that a case had been registered against the survivor and her family first. It was after chief minister’s pressure that the survivor was able to register an FIR, he said, adding “How can you say that police is under no pressure?”

Moreover, the SHO, who had initially registered a case against the survivor first, and was alleged to have pressurised the girl into changing her statement was present in the police station for 15 days. “Is this the exemplary conduct of the police everyone speaks about?”

Earlier in the day, Imran in a video message had shared that Kundi will be expelled from the party because of his conduct. On this, Kundi said that Imran "is my party chairman, but can not tolerate the words he has used against me."

“Imran finally spoke about the [Dera Ismail Khan] incident after 21 days. However, he spoke about expelling me from the party but not someone who has multiple FIRs against him.

He added, “Is Imran trying to say that the person who stands with survivors is at fault?”

Imran has always lectured us on doing the right thing. He remarked that “Khan sahab has told us that even if I [Imran] do something wrong then hold me accountable.”

Reiterating his allegations against Gandapur, he remarked that he did not concoct the allegations. “I have not made any allegations rather stated the facts. I was informed by the survivor’s uncle that Gandapur is protecting the suspects.”

He remarked: “I do not have any political rivalry against Gandapur.”

When asked about all he has done for the survivor, Kundi said, “I am fighting my provincial government to help the girl. The incident took place in my constituency; it is my political and social responsibility to resolve issues which emerge in my area of responsibility.”

Earlier, while speaking to media via video link, party chair Imran Khan remarked called Dawar Kundi a "dissident", adding he "is an estranged member of the party. He is a liar. Kundi will be expelled from the party."

Imran also said that Kundi has been making statements against the party as well as against the chief minister. "He doesn't even attend party meetings," he added.

"If any member thinks that something is wrong then he should complain to the party leaders but he [Dawar] goes and speaks in front of the media."

Imran remarked that the party has a proper code of conduct regarding the issue and a disciplinary cell, which deals with such issues.

Over the allegations against Gandapur, Imran said that "there are false. I have spoken to the IG [Inspector General] who informed me that he has no pressure from Gandapur or anyone in the investigation of the case."

On November 9, Dawar Khan Kundi penned down a letter alleging that Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, is related to the family, which initiated the assault on the girl.

Kundi, who was elected from NA-25 Tank, also asked PTI Chairperson Imran Khan and Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to removed Ali Amin from the post.

Reacting to the allegations, Ali Amin had claimed that Kundi is using the case for his personal interests. “He is a political rival and is forcing the survivor to say what he wants.”

The heat between the PTI leaders continued as Kundi accused Gandapur of being in touch with members of banned outfits while speaking on Geo News’ show Jirga.

Kundi added that this is the reason why "Imran Khan was not acting against the latter”.

Imran is scared of Ali Amin as he was in contact with members of banned outfits, Kundi remarked.
