PARIS: French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed Monday the choice of Paris as the new home of the European Banking Authority (EBA) following Britain's withdrawal from the EU in March 2019.

"Paris will welcome the European Banking Authority! It is recognition of the attractiveness and the European commitment to France," Macron tweeted.

"Happy and proud for our country," he added.
