Dar's continuous absence from the accountability court hearing a corruption reference against him resulted on Tuesday in the initiation of the process to declare him a proclaimed offender

ISLAMABAD: Ahmed Ali Quddusi, the bail guarantor of former finance minister Ishaq Dar, on Friday submitted his reply in the accountability court, praying that Dar’s bail not be seized.

The court had issued a notice to Qudoosi, asking him to submit a written response on November 24 (today) on why Dar's surety bond of Rs5 million should not be confiscated.

Quddusi also requested the court to provide Dar three more weeks to appear before the court as he is undergoing medical treatment in London.

Dar's continuous absence from the accountability court hearing a corruption reference against him resulted on Tuesday in the initiation of the process to declare him a proclaimed offender.

Judge Mohammad Bashir dismissed the pleas from Dar's counsel to exempt his client from appearance and to appoint a legal representative on his behalf.

The former finance minister is accused of possessing assets disproportionate to his declared sources of income
