ISLAMABAD: Three people were killed in a firing incident near the Secretariat Police Station in the federal capital on Sunday.

An exchange of fire occurred between two groups over a goat grazing dispute, according to the police.

A married couple, identified as Alam Khan and wife, was also killed in the firing, and their bodies were found from a car. A third killed in the incident has been identified as Maskeen, who belonged to the other group.

Members of one group had alleged that the other group grazed their goat on their land, after which they broke the leg of the goat, said the police.

Alam Khan had questioned prime suspect Zeeshan over why was his goat harmed, after which the argument escalated and two groups started firing at each other.

The police have also taken Zeeshan into custody. A case has been registered and further investigation is under way.
