Pakistani Consul General hosts Lahore Qalandars in Sydney

SYDNEY: Pakistani Consul General in Sydney Abdul Majid hosted a dinner party for Pakistan Super League franchise Lahore Qalandars who are currently in Australia to take part in the Quin T20 series.

The tournament also features academy teams from Sydney Thunder, Sydney Sixers, Hobart Hurricanes and Auckland Aces.

Speaking to Geo.tv, the Pakistani Consul General said, “Cricket a unifying force among Pakistanis in Australia.”

Qalandars captain Sohail Akhtar praised the programme and said, “The players' development programme gives hope to cricketers.”

Director of Cricket and Qalandars head coach said, “We want the players to go on more tours and we are talking to people in England for that purpose.”

“In the coming years, players from this development program will be playing in every league,” he said adding, “We will build Pakistan’s first sports school.”
