GUYANA: Pakistan Women crashed out of the ICC Women’s World T20 2018 on Friday after losing to New Zealand by 54 runs.

Batting first, the White Ferns scored 144 runs for the loss of six wickets. Sophie Devine scored 32 in 31 balls with Suzie Bates adding 35 in 31 and Amy Satterthwaite and Katey Martin chipped in with 20s to help New Zealand put up a formidable total.

For Pakistan, Sana Mir and medium-pacer Aliya Riaz picked up two wickets apiece.

Chasing 145, Pakistan fell short of 54 runs with skipper Javeria Khan scoring 36 off 23 balls as Amelia Kerr and Jess Watkin picked three wickets each to send Pakistan back home.

In another game, India booked their place in the semi-finals for the first time since 2010 as Mithali Raj scored her second straight half-century in a 52-run thrashing of Ireland.

Last year’s World Cup runners-up went into the game knowing victory would secure a last-four spot after previous wins over New Zealand and Pakistan.

Raj struck an assured 51 as India posted a total of 145-6 that was always likely to be too strong for Ireland and the tournament's lowest-ranked team struggled to 93-8 in reply as Radha Yadav finished with three for 25.

India face Australia on Saturday to decide who finishes top of Group B, before playing the semi-finals on November 22.
