LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and members of his family met his brother, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif, at the office of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday.

The former prime minister was accompanied by his daughter, Maryam Safdar, and Shehbaz Sharif's wife, Nusrat Shehbaz, and son Hamza Shehbaz during the meeting. The meeting between Shehbaz and his family took place for an hour and a half.

Shehbaz, the president of the opposition Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and former Punjab chief minister, is under a 14-day physical remand with NAB the Ashiana Iqbal housing scheme case.

The bureau has stated before an accountability court that the former chief minister of Punjab has also been arrested in another case for issuing a directive for the construction of a drain in Chiniot primarily for the use of the Ramzan Sugar Mills, which is owned by his sons.

The accountability court has ordered NAB to produce him again in court on Nov 24.
