Aleema Khan given NRO because Imran behind her theft: Marriyum

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League–Nawaz (PML-N) leader Marriyum Aurangzeb said on Tuesday that the only reason Aleema Khan "received a National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO)" was that Imran Khan was behind her theft.

Speaking to media in Islamabad, Aurangzeb questioned, “On what conditions was Aleema Khan granted an NRO?”

Criticising the prime minister, the PML-N leader said, “Someone who keeps calling others thieves, has given a thief sitting in his home an NRO and the reason she has been given an NRO is that Imran is behind her theft.”

“We should be informed regarding the sources from which the property was bought and how the money was laundered to Dubai from Pakistan," she asserted.

The PML-N leader further asked, "Why did Aleema not declare the money?"

"We should be informed when the National Accountability Bureau will file a reference against her and how much is the property worth as well as the conditions to pay the penalty. We should also be told whether the property was purchased from Zakat money or from NUML university's money,” she demanded.

Aurangzeb continued, “Those who are being called thieves are answering in every court in Pakistan. To hide their own incompetence, others are being termed as thieves and robbers.”

“The current government and Imran Khan are experts in telling lies, disgracing and abusing,” she added.

The PML-N leader further said, “Imran Khan has sent a request to the Capital Development Authority to regularise Bani Gala. He should tell us from where did he get the house. He pays and gets his house regularised while poor people's housed are demolished.”

“Nawaz Sharif presented himself for accountability, now Imran Khan has to answer,” she added.
