KARACHI: Lahore Qalandars' young batting all-rounder Agha Salman says he is excited and looking forward to sharing a dressing room with one of the best batsmen of recent times, AB de Villiers, in the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League.

Speaking to Geo.tv on Thursday on the sidelines of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final where he was representing Habib Bank team, Salman said having de Villiers around would be a great opportunity for him to learn.

"I am really looking forward to it," he said about working with the South African legend.

"Everyone knows that he's the most destructive batsman and having him around is not only a learning opportunity but also a great source of motivation," said the 25-year-old batsman from Lahore.

Agha credited Lahore Qalandars for changing his life.

"Playing PSL with Lahore Qalandars changed my life. Everyone started recognising me after I played for Lahore Qalandars in the tournament. So it's a life changing moment for me," he said.

Salman got the opportunity to represent Lahore Qalandars last season as replacement player after Bilawal Bhatti was ruled out of the tournament.

He scored 166 runs in 8 innings that also included one half century to prove his worth.

He is now looking forward to playing a more important role in helping Qalandars win the fourth edition of PSL.

"This time, our team is much better from all three previous editions and I am very hopeful that Qalandars fans will not be disappointed with the results this time," said Agha Salman.

"Personally, I am looking forward to giving my best and playing my part in the success of Lahore," he said.
