Emerging Asia Cup: Bangladesh defeat Pakistan by 84 runs

KARACHI: Bangladesh defeated Pakistan on Sunday by 84 runs in Emerging Asia Cup.

Bangladesh gave Pakistan a target of 310 runs in the ongoing ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup on Sunday at Karachi's National Stadium.

Yasir Ali Chowdhury and Mosaddek Hossain's 126-run stand powered Bangladesh to 309/5 in 50 overs after they won the toss and elected to bat. 

For Pakistan Khushdil Shah picked up three and Musa Khan picked two wickets.

Pakistan are already through to the semi-finals of the tournament, having defeated United Arab Emirates (UAE) in their last match by nine wickets and thrashing Hong Kong by 225-runs in their opening match.

Pakistan are hosting pool B teams that include UAE, Bangladesh and Hong Kong at National Stadium. The rest of the teams are being co-hosted by Sri Lanka.

A total of eight teams including Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, Oman, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Hong Kong and UAE are participating in the tournament, which kicked-off on December 6.

The final will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka on December 15.
