Pats' Brady sets NFL passing TD mark in loss to Dolphins

MIAMI: New England's superstar quarterback Tom Brady nabbed another NFL record on Sunday, surpassing Peyton Manning for the most ever touchdown passes thrown in a loss to the Miami Dolphins.

Brady's two-yard touchdown toss to wide receiver Julian Edelman in the second quarter was his 580th -- including regular season and the playoffs -- moving him out of a tie with Manning on 579.

It was his 509th regular-season TD, moving him out of a tie with Brett Favre for third all-time. Manning tops that regular-season list with 539.

Brady finished the game with three touchdowns, but as usual, he was less concerned with individual records than with a stunning loss to Miami that put the Patriots' march toward a remarkable 10th straight AFC East division title on hold.

The Dolphins sealed the win on the final play of the game, a wild sequence that featured a pass from Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill to Kenny Stills, who then shovelled a lateral pass to DeVante Parker who then flicked another lateral to Kenyan Drake who raced in for the score.

Brady acknowledged the precision Miami needed to pull off the unusual play, but said the game "shouldn't have come down to that".
