LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders paid a visit to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Kot Lakhpat prison today.

Former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair, Zahid Hamid, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Rana Tanveer Hussain, Saira Afzal Tarar, Khurram Dastagir, Qamar-ul-Zaman Khan, Mian Marghoob, Rohail Asghar and others met with the former premier.

Speaking to the media after the visit, former defence minister Dastagir said that Nawaz’s ideology is that the public should have the right to govern. He added that if anything is done to Nawaz which goes against the law then they will raise their voice.

“Rulers should stop being arrogant,” he added.

Former Sindh governor Zubair said that no court decision till now has shown anything. “No paper till now has Nawaz’s signature on it,” he added.

“The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) government has put the name of 172 people on the Exit Control List and there is talk of governor’s rule in Sindh. The PTI leadership in Sindh is not politically mature,” Zubair added.

Turning to the economic condition in the country, Zubair said, that the interest rate in the country has risen to 10 percent. The country has the right finance minister but a leading role is necessary. Asad Umar’s performance has not been good either.

He added that the government’s priority at the moment is getting aid from Saudi Arabia and China. “We thought that the country would move towards progress however that is not happening,” Zubair added.
