Fire in Karachi cotton go-down doused after 14 hours

KARACHI: A category-3 blaze that erupted Monday night in a cotton go-down in the metropolis' SITE Industrial Area was doused 14 hours after it was first reported to officials.
The first report of the fire at the cotton go-down was received at 8:42pm Monday night, the chief fire officer said.

According to fire brigade officials, 13 vehicles tried to douse the blaze for 14 hours. No loss of life was reported during the incident.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
Speaking to Geo News, the fire chief said the go-down had cotton bales stored inside which made it easier for the flames to spread and more challenging for the firefighters to bring it under control.
