Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was briefed about the new cases of polio in the province and told the children were administered polio drops under the polio campaign, however, they were not administered the zero dose of the vaccine.

Terming the polio virus as a dangerous disease, the Punjab chief minister ordered that the age of children be raised to 10 years and directed the related department to take steps.

The chief minister further directed the authorities to take notice of the sewage situation at Outfall Road and that steps should be taken to provide clean water. Buzdar added an office of the Water and Sanitation Agency should be established at Outfall Road.

Punjab chief minister spokesperson Shehbaz Gill shared that the CM has directed that the polio campaign be fast-tracked. He added, the chief minister has summoned all the provincial commissioners and deputy commissioners on Monday for a meeting.
