KARACHI: A 25-year-old man and a woman were killed on the orders of a Jirga in the name of ‘honour’, police said on Saturday.

The bodies of the two were found from Hub in the jurisdiction of the Surjani Police Station three days ago, officials added. The bodies bore marks of torture and their throats were slashed, officials added.

Police identified the man as Naseeb Zar Khan, 25, and the woman as Bibi Dakhtar. They both belonged to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and lived in the same locality, officials said.

“The two were killed after proper planning,” officials said and added that the woman’s parents are missing.

A case which included clauses of murder and ‘karo kari’ has been registered on the state’s complaint.

The first information report (FIR) states that the man was reported as missing in July while the woman was reported missing in August. “When they were reported missing, a jirga was called which ordered that the couple be killed,” police added.

Further investigation into the incident is under way, they further said.
