KARACHI: Karachi Kings batsman Colin Ingram has said there is no better feeling than playing at your home ground in front of the fans.

“Our team is just starting to click and we need to win games and there is no better place to do it then come home and in front of your fans," Ingram said while speaking to Geo News. “I am really excited about playing here.

“If we can put up a couple of big performance, it can set us [Karachi Kings] up nicely and into the playoffs,” the 33-year-old South African said.

Responding to a question about the return of cricket to Pakistan and the last eight matches of Pakistan Super League in the country, Ingram said, it is as his second time in Pakistan and he is looking forward to playing here. “It is a massive moment for Pakistan cricket in general. There has been a lot of excitement and the fans are going to be engaged.”

He added, “For me personally, it is really about getting out into the middle and experiencing that atmosphere.”

When asked what are his thoughts about seeing his cutouts and other players around the city, Ingram said, “It was a welcome feeling and it was really good to see it. Cricket can unite people and I have seen that back at home in South Africa as well.”

It’s great to be able to come here and contribute, he added.

Speaking about the young talent in the team, the batsman said, “It’s always great to uncover young talent like Umer Khan. It’s great to hang out with them. They pick your brain and are learning all the time. Every season there are a couple of guys like this.”

About sampling some desi food, Ingram said, “I have been promised some great biryani and I am looking forward to that.”
