ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a key meeting of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders on Saturday, sources informed Geo News.

PM Khan will preside over the meeting at 4pm at his Bani Gala residence, according to sources.

The meeting was summoned a day after a reshuffle of the federal cabinet and at a time of growing pressure on the PTI government with the rupee losing 30 percent of its value since the start of 2018, stirring sharp inflation.

On Thursday, Asad Umar, the finance minister of the country, resigned from his post. His resignation followed removal of Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar over unsatisfactory performance.

Khan, earlier today, warned his ministers of being replaced if they failed to perform.

“A good captain is always looking towards his team to win and is constantly monitoring his team,” the premier said addressing a rally in Orakzai, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“The captain’s sole purpose is to make his team win. I have one purpose to make my country win and I am answerable to Allah.”

He added that to obtain his purpose he had “changed the batting order in his team and will continue to do so in the future”.
