Chichawatni man kills wife, toddler over refusal to accompany him home

CHICHAWATNI: A man on Friday shot dead his wife and his toddler daughter over his spouse's refusal to return home before killing himself, authorities said.

According to police, the incident occurred in Chichawatni's Dera Rahim neighbourhood.

Police mentioned that the husband had gone to his in-laws' residence to try and convince his wife — who was upset over some domestic argument — to return home with him. Upon her refusal to do so, he opened fire on her and his 18-month-old daughter.

A son of the couple remained safe during the firing incident. The man, however, shot himself dead afterwards.

The bodies were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital, police said.
