Gujranwala man throws minor domestic help off the roof for not working properly

LAHORE/GUJRANWALA: A minor domestic help whose employer threw her off the roof of a house in Cantt Phase 1 after beating her for not working properly succumbed to her injuries on Monday, authorities confirmed.
The 12-year-old, who was identified as Neelam, hailed from Kila Virkan area in Sheikhupura district, police said. She was brought to Lahore General Hospital two days ago in a critical condition.
Police said they have arrested the owner of the house — identified as Mohammad Ali — after registering a first information report (FIR) for murder.
On the other hand, the deceased's family claimed that Mohammad Ali, the suspect, had ditched Neelam outside her residence in Khanpur, Sheikhupura, and fled. They went on to protest for justice at Lahore Road.
Police in Factory Area consequently assured the bereaved family that justice would be provided.
