Lahore man, with help of second wife, tortures sons, kills one of them

LAHORE: A man on Wednesday allegedly tortured two of his minor sons, one of whom later passed away, here in the city's Green Town area

According to police, the father and the suspect — identified as Parvez — had married twice and took his sons to the second wife's home where he allegedly subjected the brothers to torture.

Police said the body of the nine-year old was shifted to the morgue for post-mortem. It, nevertheless, bore visible marks of torture, they added, but truth can ascertained once the report is released.

A first information report (FIR) has been filed on behalf of the deceased boy's maternal uncle, Sadiq, against the father and the step-mother, Kulsoom.

According to the FIR, Parvez and Kulsoom returned to the late boy's home in a rickshaw where they threw him and his seven-year-old brother — both in critical condition — outside and left.

The elder brother, however, succumbed to his injuries whereas the younger one was still in a critical condition.

Police said the suspect managed to flee and that a search to apprehend him was underway.
