KARACHI: The Karachi Traders Action Committee has announced a three-day protest against skyrocketing federal budget taxes.

The business community across the country held a joint session in which it decided to hold shutter down strike on July 13.

KTAC leader Rizwan Irfan said that the government has depicted irresponsible behaviour, which led to their call for strike.

The traders also presented an 11-point agenda to the federal government, which included the threshold for tax to return to Rs1.2 million, reducing taxes on import of cars, uniformity in tax collection, no audit of tax payers etc.

Special Assistant to PM Firdous Ashiq Awan said that traders are crucial for the economy and their issues will be resolved on immediate basis.
