Minor boy found dead in Batapur fields was raped, beaten to death with bricks: police

LAHORE: A minor boy who was found dead in fields in Lakhan Sharif area of Batapur was raped and then beaten to death with bricks, police said Sunday, adding that they initiated an investigation into the murder.

The deceased — identified as 10-year-old Sajjad — had left home to take his goats for grazing but never returned. When the boy's family started a search for him, they found his body from fields near their village.

Police said the minor boy was raped before being hit repeatedly in the head with bricks, causing his death by blunt force trauma. The body has been shifted to a morgue for post-mortem, they added.

Police further said more details and facts in the case would be ascertained once the post-mortem report is released.
